Terms of Service
Last updated: 2 June 2026
1. Who we are
RegWize is operated by RegWize Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 17246776), registered office 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA. In these terms, "we", "us" and "RegWize" mean RegWize Ltd, and "you" means anyone using the site or buying a report.
By using regwize.co.uk you accept these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the service.
2. What we provide
RegWize gives you information about UK vehicles — MOT history, tax and registration details, mileage records, provenance checks and vehicle specifications. We offer this through a free tier and through paid reports and subscriptions (see section 4).
We're an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the DVLA, DVSA, or Experian in any official capacity — we simply licence data from them and present it to you.
3. Where the data comes from (and its limits)
Depending on the check, your report combines data from several sources:
- DVLA & DVSA — tax status, registration details and full MOT history.
- Experian (via the One Auto API) — provenance data behind the History Check and Full Vehicle History Check: insurance write-offs, outstanding finance, stolen markers, salvage, plate, colour and keeper history, and vehicle specification.
- Brego — the market valuation included in the Full Vehicle History Check.
This data reflects what those providers held at the moment your check ran. A check is a snapshot, not a guarantee about the vehicle. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any error, omission or inaccuracy in third-party data (including data supplied by Experian, UK Vehicle Data, Brego, the DVLA and the DVSA) and for any loss arising from your reliance on it.
The History Check and Full Vehicle History Check carry Experian's data guarantee (up to £10,000). This guarantee is provided and administered by Experian and is subject to the Experian data guarantee terms and conditions, which you accept when you purchase a check. Any claim under the guarantee is handled in accordance with those terms.
Always treat a report as one part of your due diligence. For anything safety-critical or high-value, inspect the vehicle and get a professional opinion before you buy.
4. Plans, reports and prices
We offer:
- Free — a limited number of basic checks each calendar month (your current allowance is shown in your dashboard).
- Pro (£9.99/month) and Dealer (£79/month) — subscriptions with unlimited basic checks, extra features, and a discount on paid reports (10% for Pro, 25% for Dealer).
- Paid reports — the History Check (£9.99), the Full Vehicle History Check (£24.99), and the Mileage and Clean Air Zone certificates (£0.99 each). Paid reports are saved to your account and viewable for 30 days from purchase.
Prices include VAT where applicable and are shown before you pay. We may change prices or plan features from time to time; changes won't affect a report you've already bought.
5. Payments
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We don't see or store your full card details. By paying, you confirm you're authorised to use the payment method. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel.
6. Refunds & cancellation
Reports are digital content delivered immediately. When you run a check or generate a report, you ask us to start straight away — so you agree that, once the report has been produced, your statutory 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations no longer applies. That means we generally don't refund a report once it has been generated.
We will, of course, put things right if something goes wrong on our side — for example, if a report fails to generate, returns no data, or you were charged in error. Just contact us and we'll re-run it or refund it.
Subscriptions: you can cancel any time from your account settings. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, then stops renewing. We don't give partial refunds for the remainder of a billing month.
7. Using the service responsibly
You agree to use RegWize lawfully and not to:
- use it to commit or assist fraud, harassment, or any other crime;
- scrape, bulk-copy, resell or redistribute the data we provide (beyond the report you bought, for your own use);
- use bots or automated tools to access the service without our written permission;
- share your login with others or let anyone else use your paid allowance.
The vehicle data we provide is licensed for your personal or business use in deciding about a specific vehicle — not for building your own dataset or competing product.
8. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. You can delete your account at any time from your settings.
9. Liability
We work hard to make RegWize accurate and reliable, but the service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from your reliance on third-party data (for example, buying a vehicle based on a report). Nothing in these terms limits our liability for things that can't be excluded by law, such as fraud or death/personal injury caused by negligence. Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Intellectual property
The RegWize name, logo, site, software and report design are ours. You may keep and use the reports you buy, but you can't copy, redistribute or create derivative products from our content without our written consent.
11. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently. If we close your account without cause, we'll refund any paid report you can no longer access.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. If a change is significant, we'll email registered users. Carrying on using RegWize after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you're a consumer, you may also have rights to bring proceedings in your local courts.
